An Initiative of Navsrushti International Trust

Medical Check-up camps for 2000 students

Every year Dharma Bharathi Mission organizes medical check-up for almost 2000 students who are being provided mid-day meal by us. We take up this initiative to tackle malnourishment/undernourishment in a holistic approach. We ensure mental and physical well being of the students in our adopted Schools in Govandi & Trombay. This year eye check-up for the children was conducted at Poddar School – Santacruz, around 500 children came for a checkup.

These camps are conducted twice in the academic year, once in June when the schools open and second time in February just before the final exams. The data is monitored closely and supplemental nutrition is provided to the less privileged students. Similarly, reading glasses are made for those whose vision is poor and serious ailments are referred to our associated doctors.

This year the medical camps were conducted free of cost by the team of very dedicated doctors from Baba Jeewan Singh Memorial Medical Trust, Sion Koliwada, Mumbai. We are extremely grateful to Shri Bhupinder Singh Kohli, Shri Dalip Singh and all the trustees of the Baba Jeewan Singh Trust for their selfless service in helping DBM’s drive to achieve a hunger-free India project. In this initiative, overall health plays a very significant role. With their assistance, we were able to monitor the well being of our slum kids and provide interventions wherever required.
