Showcasing the experiences of students who had taken a Giant leap and Volunteered in the Slum schools of DBM.<\/p>\n<p>Over 100 students from the NSS Units of K C.College, Hinduja College, K.J.Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce and Guru Nanak College volunteered every Saturday of the Academic year in SVM School,Yusuf Meherally School, C.J.School, Salina School,Colaba Municipal School, Tilak Nagar School, Seva Sadan School, Guru Nanak School and Priyadarshini School.<br \/>\nOn the last day it was interesting to hear about their work, techniques, experience and Learning through their presentation and panel Discussion.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-2180 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.dbmindia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/vol-event-2.jpg\"alt=\"\" width=\"724\" height=\"548\" \/><br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-2180 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.dbmindia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/vol-event-3.jpg\"alt=\"\" width=\"636\" height=\"588\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They shared the effectiveness of Volunteering and the Benefits of the Chalo English Sikhayein Program. They shared their observations that students are curious,cooperative, eager to learn, enthusiastic, disciplined, attentive, intelligent,creative and they understood the importance of Education. It was amazing to see students working as teachers,researching and sharing innovative ways to encourage and engage the new generation to study.<\/p>\n<p>Principals and Teachers of the Schools too were present and they shared that student volunteers bond well with students and this helps to energise students and remove fear of speaking english. They also felt that teaching through the medium of story and games by Volunteers was very effective. They felt that the volunteers are role models for students and great motivators. They appreciated this Initiative of DBM and said that this &#8220;Gyan Daan&#8221; was a Great initiative in the Right Direction. <\/p>\n<p>Volunteers had a lot to share both academically and emotionally.
