Swami Sachidananda Bharathi

Founder, NIT

Navasrushti International Trust (NIT) was founded by Acharya-guru Swami Sachidananda Bharathi to promote national regeneration of India and to usher in a civilisation of love and culture of peace in the world based on the eternal moral and spiritual values common to all religions. It was registered in Kerala with a global coverage on 8th September 2005. The Registered Office of NIT functions from Dharma Bharathi Ashram, Mulanthuruthy, Kochi, Kerala – 682314.

Swami Sachidananda Bharathi is a former Indian Air Force Squadron Leader turned seeker of truth and promoter of peace. Because of his Air Force background he is also known as ‘Air Force Baba’. An encounter with death in an air accident in 1982 was the ‘turning point’ in his life. He was initiated into spiritual life in 1984. He received ‘Acharya diksha’ in 1990. He entered Sanyasa in 2001. He founded the ‘Bharathi Chaturashrama Sanyasa Parampara‘ in 2003 and took the name ‘Swami Sachidananda Bharathi’. Swamiji has traveled widely and has authored a number of books. He was one of the delegates who represented India in the ‘Millennium World Peace Summit of Religious & Spiritual Leaders’ organised by the United Nations. In 2007 Swamiji undertook a year-long All India Peace Pilgrimage termed ‘Desh Vandana-2007‘. In the concluding prayer-meeting of ‘Desh Vandana-2007’ held at Gandhi Mandapam, Kanyakumari, on 30th January 2008 he initiated the ‘Second Freedom Struggle of India’ with the goal ‘Hunger-free, Caste-free & Corruption-free India’.
